Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood to deliver a Khutbah, he said: 'O you people! You will be gathered before Allah naked and uncircumcised.' Then he recited: 'As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it...' until the end of the Ayah (21:104). He said: 'The first to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection is Ibrahim. Indeed some men from my Ummah will be brought and taken from the left side, so I will say: My Lord! My followers! It will be said: Indeed you do not know what they innovated after you.' So I shall say as the righteous slave said: 'And I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them. If You punish them, they are your slaves, and if You forgive them...' [until the end of] the Ayah (5:117 & 118) I shall be told: 'These people have not ceased turning on their heels as apostates ever since you parted from them.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَوَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ عُرَاةً غُرْلًا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ:‏‏‏‏ كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا سورة الأنبياء آية 104 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُكْسَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّهُ سَيُؤْتَى بِرِجَالٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُؤْخَذُ بِهِمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ فَأَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ رَبِّ أَصْحَابِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ:‏‏‏‏ وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ‏‏‏‏ 117 ‏‏‏‏ إِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ‏‏‏‏ 118 ‏‏‏‏ سورة المائدة آية 117-118، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ هَؤُلَاءِ لَمْ يَزَالُوا مُرْتَدِّينَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ مُنْذُ فَارَقْتَهُمْ ،‏‏‏‏

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وعظ و نصیحت کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: ”تم لوگ قیامت کے دن اللہ کے پاس ننگے اور غیر مختون جمع کئے جاؤ گے، پھر آپ نے آیت پڑھی «كما بدأنا أول خلق نعيده وعدا علينا» ”ہم نے جیسے پہلے آدمی کو پیدا کیا ہے ویسا ہی دوبارہ لوٹا دیں گے ( پیدا فرما دیں گے ) “ ( الانبیاء: ۱۰۴ ) ، آپ نے فرمایا: ”قیامت کے دن جنہیں سب سے پہلے کپڑا پہنایا جائے گا وہ ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہوں گے، ( قیامت کے دن ) میری امت کے کچھ لوگ لائے جائیں گے جنہیں چھانٹ کر بائیں جانب ( جہنم کی رخ ) کر دیا جائے گا، میں کہوں گا پروردگار! یہ تو میرے اصحاب ( امتی ) ہیں، کہا جائے گا: آپ کو نہیں معلوم ان لوگوں نے آپ کے بعد کیا کیا نئی باتیں ( خرافات ) دین میں پیدا ( داخل ) کر دیں۔ ( یہ سن کر ) میں بھی وہی بات کہوں گا جو اللہ کے نیک بندے ( عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ) نے کہی ہے «وكنت عليهم شهيدا ما دمت فيهم فلما توفيتني كنت أنت الرقيب عليهم وأنت على كل شيء شهيد إن تعذبهم فإنهم عبادك وإن تغفر لهم» ”میں جب تک ان کے درمیان تھا ان کی دیکھ بھال کرتا رہا تھا، پھر جب آپ نے مجھے اٹھا لیا آپ ان کے محافظ و نگہبان بن گئے، آپ ہر چیز سے واقف ہیں۔ اگر آپ انہیں سزا دیں تو وہ آپ کے بندے و غلام ہیں۔ ( آپ انہیں سزا دے سکتے ہیں ) اور اگر آپ انہیں معاف کر دیں تو آپ زبردست حکمت والے ہیں“ ( المائدہ: ۱۱۸ ) ، کہا جائے گا: یہ وہ لوگ ہیں کہ آپ نے جب سے ان کا ساتھ چھوڑا ہے یہ اپنی پہلی حالت سے پھر گئے ہیں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: when (the following) was revealed: O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing... up to His saying: But Allah's torment is severe...(22:1 & 2) - he said: These Ayat were revealed while he (ﷺ) was on a journey and he said: 'Do you know what Day this is?' So they said: 'Allah and His Messenger know better.' He said: 'That is the day when Allah says to Adam: Send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. So he says: O Lord! How many are to be sent? He says: Nine-hundred and ninety-nine in the Fire, and one to Paradise. He said: So the Muslims started crying. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Close your ranks and be straight forward, for there was never any Prophethood but there was a time of ignorance just before his advent, so the number will be taken from that time of ignorance, and if that is not enough, it will be made up of the hypocrites. The parable of you and the other nations is that you are like a mark on the foreleg of an animal, or a mole on the flank of a camel.' Then he said: 'I hope that you will be a quarter of the people of Paradise.' They said: Allahu Akbar. Then he said: 'I hope that you will be a third of the people of Paradise.' They said: Allahu Akbar. Then he said: 'I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise.' They said: Allahu Akbar. He said: I do not know if he said two thirds or not.

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing... up to His saying: but Allah's torment is severe (21:1 & 2). When his Companions heard that, they hastened to catch up with him, since they knew that he had something to say. He (ﷺ) said: 'Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam, send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw the state of his Companions, he said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis.' He said: So some of the people's grief went away, and he (ﷺ) said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is only called Al-Bait Al-'Atiq because it has not been conquered by a tyrant.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was expelled from Makkah, Abu Bakr said: 'They have driven out their Prophet to their own doom.' So Allah, Most High, revealed: 'Permission (to fight) is given to those who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them victory (22:39).' So Abu Bakr said: 'Then I knew that there would be fighting.'

Narrated Sa'eed bin Jubair: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was expelled from Makkah a man said: 'They have driven out their Prophet' so (the following) was revealed: Permission (to fight) is given to those who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them victory. Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly (22:39). [Those who were expelled were the Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions.]

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab [may Allah be pleased with him]: When revelation came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), one could hear what sounded like the drone of bees before his face. One day revelation was coming to him, he faced the Qiblah, raised his hands and said: 'O Allah! Increase us, do not diminish us. Favor us, do not withhold from us, make us pleased and be pleased with us.' He (ﷺ) said: 'Ten Ayah were revealed to me, whoever abides by them shall enter Paradise (and they are): 'Successful indeed ar the believers...' until the completion of then Ayat (23:1-10).
