Narrated 'Imran bin Husain: We were with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing... up to His saying: but Allah's torment is severe (21:1 & 2). When his Companions heard that, they hastened to catch up with him, since they knew that he had something to say. He (ﷺ) said: 'Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam, send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw the state of his Companions, he said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis.' He said: So some of the people's grief went away, and he (ﷺ) said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَتَفَاوَتَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي السَّيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَوْتَهُ بِهَاتَيْنِ الْآيَتَيْنِ:‏‏‏‏ يَأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ سورة الحج آية 1 ـ 2 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ أَصْحَابُهُ حَثُّوا الْمَطِيَّ وَعَرَفُوا أَنَّهُ عِنْدَ قَوْلٍ يَقُولُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذَاكَ يَوْمٌ يُنَادِي اللَّهُ فِيهِ آدَمَ فَيُنَادِيهِ رَبُّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا آدَمُ ابْعَثْ بَعْثَ النَّارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَبِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ ؟ فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعُ مِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَوَاحِدٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَئِسَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى مَا أَبَدَوْا بِضَاحِكَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِي بِأَصْحَابِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّكُمْ لَمَعَ خَلِيقَتَيْنِ مَا كَانَتَا مَعَ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا كَثَّرَتَاهُ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ وَبَنِي إِبْلِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَسُرِّيَ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ بَعْضُ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي جَنْبِ الْبَعِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ كَالرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الدَّابَّةِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عمران بن حصین رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سفر میں تھے، اور چلنے میں ایک دوسرے سے آگے پیچھے ہو گئے تھے، آپ نے بآواز بلند یہ دونوں آیتیں: «يا أيها الناس اتقوا ربكم إن زلزلة الساعة شيء عظيم» سے لے کر «عذاب الله شديد» تک تلاوت فرمائی، جب صحابہ نے یہ سنا تو اپنی سواریوں کو ابھار کر ان کی رفتار بڑھا دی، اور یہ جان لیا کہ کوئی بات ہے جسے آپ فرمانے والے ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”کیا تم جانتے ہو یہ کون سا دن ہے؟“، صحابہ نے کہا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول زیادہ بہتر جانتے ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ وہ دن ہے جس دن اللہ تعالیٰ آدم علیہ السلام کو پکاریں گے اور وہ اپنے رب کو جواب دیں گے، اللہ تعالیٰ ان سے فرمائے گا: «ابعث بعث النار» ”بھیجو جہنم میں جانے والی جماعت کو“، آدم علیہ السلام کہیں گے: اے ہمارے رب! «بعث النار» ”کیا ہے ( یعنی کتنے ) ؟“ اللہ کہے گا: ایک ہزار افراد میں سے نو سو ننانوے جہنم میں جائیں گے اور ایک جنت میں جائے گا، یہ سن کر لوگ مایوس ہو گئے، ایسا لگا کہ اب یہ زندگی بھر کبھی ہنسیں گے نہیں، پھر جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صحابہ کی یہ ( مایوسانہ ) کیفیت و گھبراہٹ دیکھی تو فرمایا: ”اچھے بھلے کام کرو اور خوش ہو جاؤ ( اچھے اعمال کے صلے میں جنت پاؤ گے ) قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد کی جان ہے! تم ایسی دو مخلوق کے ساتھ ہو کہ وہ جس کے بھی ساتھ ہو جائیں اس کی تعداد بڑھا دیں، ایک یاجوج و ماجوج اور دوسرے وہ جو اولاد آدم اور اولاد ابلیس میں سے ( حالت کفر میں ) مر چکے ہیں، آپ کی اس بات سے لوگوں کے رنج و فکر کی اس کیفیت میں کچھ کمی آئی جسے لوگ شدت سے محسوس کر رہے تھے اور اپنے دلوں میں موجود پا رہے تھے۔“ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نیکی کا عمل جاری رکھو، اور ایک دوسرے کو خوشخبری دو، قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے! تم تو لوگوں میں بس ایسے ہو جیسے اونٹ ( جیسے بڑے جانور ) کے پہلو ( پسلی ) میں کوئی داغ یا نشان ہو، یا چوپائے کی اگلی دست میں کوئی تل ہو“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: It is only called Al-Bait Al-'Atiq because it has not been conquered by a tyrant.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was expelled from Makkah, Abu Bakr said: 'They have driven out their Prophet to their own doom.' So Allah, Most High, revealed: 'Permission (to fight) is given to those who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them victory (22:39).' So Abu Bakr said: 'Then I knew that there would be fighting.'

Narrated Sa'eed bin Jubair: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was expelled from Makkah a man said: 'They have driven out their Prophet' so (the following) was revealed: Permission (to fight) is given to those who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them victory. Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly (22:39). [Those who were expelled were the Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions.]

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab [may Allah be pleased with him]: When revelation came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), one could hear what sounded like the drone of bees before his face. One day revelation was coming to him, he faced the Qiblah, raised his hands and said: 'O Allah! Increase us, do not diminish us. Favor us, do not withhold from us, make us pleased and be pleased with us.' He (ﷺ) said: 'Ten Ayah were revealed to me, whoever abides by them shall enter Paradise (and they are): 'Successful indeed ar the believers...' until the completion of then Ayat (23:1-10).

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that Ar-Rubai' bint An-Nadr came to the Prophet (ﷺ) - and her son Harithah bin Suraqah had been killed on the Day of Badr, having been struck by an arrow, shot by an unknown person - so she came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: Inform me about Harithah. If he has reached goodness, I shall be forbearing and patient. If he has not reached goodness, I will struggle supplicating for him. So Allah's Prophet (ﷺ) said: O Umm Harithah! There are gardens in Paradise, and verily your son Harithah has reached the highest part of Paradise, and Al-Firdaws is the highest part of Paradise, its most center and best.

Narrated 'Abdur-Rahman bin [Sa'eed bin] Wahb - that is Al-Hamdani: that 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I asked about the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about this Ayah: And those who give that which they give with their hearts full of fear... (23:60) 'Aishah said: Are they those who drink Khamr and steal? He said: No, O daughter of As-Siddiq. They are those who fast, perform Salat, give charity while they fear that their Lord will not accept it from them: It is these who hasten to do good deeds, and they are the foremost of them (23:61).
