Narrated Masruq: I was reclining in the presence of 'Aishah when she said: 'O Abu 'Aishah! There are three things, whoever speaks of one of them, then he has uttered one of the worst lies against Allah. Whoever claims that Muhammad saw his Lord. Then he has uttered one the worst lies against Allah, Allah says: No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision, and He is the Most Subtle, Well-Acquainted with all things (6:103). It is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by revelation or from behind a veil (42:91).' I was reclining so I sat up an said: 'O Mother of the Believers! Take your time with me and do not be hasty with me! Did Allah Most High not say: And indeed he saw him at a second descent (53:13). (And) 'And indeed he saw him in the clear horizon (81:23).' She said 'By Allah! I was the first who asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about this. He said: That was only Jibril. I did not see him in the appearance he was created in except for these two times. I saw him descending from the heavens, and due to his tremendous size he filled what was between the heavens and the earth. And whoever claimed that Muhammad hid anything that Allah revealed to him, then he uttered one of the worst lies against Allah. Allah says: O Messenger! Proclaim what has been sent down to you from your Lord (5:67). And whoever claimed that he (ﷺ) knew what would be tomorrow, then he has uttered one of the worst lies against Allah. Allah says: Say: 'None in the heavens and in the earth knows the unseen but Allah (27:65).'

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ يُوسُفَ الأَزْرَقُ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ مُتَّكِئًا عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ تَكَلَّمَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ فَقَدْ أَعْظَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْفِرْيَةَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَأَى رَبَّهُ فَقَدْ أَعْظَمَ الْفِرْيَةَ عَلَى اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّهُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لا تُدْرِكُهُ الأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الأَبْصَارَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ سورة الأنعام آية 103 وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَنْ يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ سورة الشورى آية 51 وَكُنْتُ مُتَّكِئًا فَجَلَسْتُ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْظِرِينِي وَلَا تُعْجِلِينِي أَلَيْسَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى:‏‏‏‏ وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَى سورة النجم آية 13 وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ سورة التكوير آية 23، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا وَاللَّهِ أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ هَذَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الصُّورَةِ الَّتِي خُلِقَ فِيهَا غَيْرَ هَاتَيْنِ الْمَرَّتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَأَيْتُهُ مُنْهَبِطًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَادًّا عِظَمُ خَلْقِهِ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا كَتَمَ شَيْئًا مِمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدْ أَعْظَمَ الْفِرْيَةَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ:‏‏‏‏ يَأَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ سورة المائدة آية 67، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ فَقَدْ أَعْظَمَ الْفِرْيَةَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْ لا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلا اللَّهُ سورة النمل آية 65 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْأَجْدَعِ يُكْنَى أَبَا عَائِشَةَ وَهُوَ مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَكَذَا كَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الدِّيوَانِ.

مسروق کہتے ہیں کہ میں ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کے پاس ٹیک لگا کر بیٹھا ہوا تھا، انہوں نے کہا: اے ابوعائشہ! تین چیزیں ایسی ہیں کہ ان میں سے کسی نے ایک بھی کیا تو وہ اللہ پر بڑی بہتان لگائے گا: ( ۱ ) جس نے خیال کیا کہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( معراج کی رات میں ) اللہ کو دیکھا ہے تو اس نے اللہ کی ذات کے بارے میں بڑی بہتان لگائی۔ کیونکہ اللہ اپنی ذات کے بارے میں کہتا ہے «لا تدركه الأبصار وهو يدرك الأبصار وهو اللطيف الخبير» ”کہ اسے انسانی نگاہیں نہیں پا سکتی ہیں، اور وہ نگاہوں کو پا لیتا ہے ( یعنی اسے کوئی نہیں دیکھ سکتا اور وہ سبھی کو دیکھ لیتا ہے ) اور اس کی ذات لطیف و خبیر ہے“، «وما كان لبشر أن يكلمه الله إلا وحيا أو من وراء حجاب» ”کسی انسان کو بھی یہ مقام و درجہ حاصل نہیں ہے کہ اللہ اس سے بغیر وحی کے یا بغیر پردے کے براہ راست اس سے بات چیت کرے“، ( وہ کہتے ہیں ) میں ٹیک لگائے ہوئے تھا اور اٹھ بیٹھا، میں نے کہا: ام المؤمنین! مجھے بولنے کا موقع دیجئیے اور میرے بارے میں حکم لگانے میں جلدی نہ کیجئے گا، کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ نہیں فرمایا: «ولقد رآه نزلة أخرى» ”بیشک محمد نے اسے تو ایک مرتبہ اور بھی دیکھا تھا“ ( النجم: ۱۳ ) «ولقد رآه بالأفق المبين» ”بیشک انہوں نے اسے آسمان کے روشن کنارے پر دیکھا“ ( التکویر: ۲۳ ) تب عائشہ رضی الله عنہا نے کہا: قسم اللہ کی! میں وہ پہلی ذات ہوں جس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”وہ تو جبرائیل علیہ السلام تھے ( ان آیتوں میں میرے دیکھنے سے مراد جبرائیل علیہ السلام کو دیکھنا تھا، اللہ کو نہیں ) ان دو مواقع کے سوا اور کوئی موقع ایسا نہیں ہے جس میں جبرائیل علیہ السلام کو میں نے ان کی اپنی اصل صورت میں دیکھا ہو۔ جس پر ان کی تخلیق ہوئی ہے، میں نے ان کو آسمان سے اترتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے، ان کی بناوٹ کی بڑائی یعنی بھاری بھر کم جسامت نے آسمان و زمین کے درمیان جگہ کو گھیر رکھا تھا“، ( ۲ ) : اور دوسرا وہ شخص کہ جو اللہ پر جھوٹا الزام لگانے کا بڑا مجرم ہے جس نے یہ خیال کیا کہ اللہ نے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر جو چیزیں اتاری ہیں ان میں سے کچھ چیزیں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چھپا لی ہیں۔ جب کہ اللہ کہتا ہے «يا أيها الرسول بلغ ما أنزل إليك من ربك» ”جو چیز اللہ کی جانب سے تم پر اتاری گئی ہے اسے لوگوں تک پہنچا دو“ ( النساء: ۶۷ ) ، ( ۳ ) : وہ شخص بھی اللہ پر جھوٹا الزام لگانے والا ہے جو یہ سمجھے کہ کل کیا ہونے والا ہے، محمد اسے جانتے ہیں، جب کہ اللہ خود کہتا ہے «قل لا يعلم من في السموات والأرض الغيب إلا الله» ”کہ آسمان و زمین میں غیب اللہ کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas: Some people came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Why is it that we can eat what we kill but we can not eat what Allah has killed?' So Allah revealed: So eat of that on which Allah's Name has been mentioned if you are indeed believers in His Ayat... up to His saying: ...And if you obey them, then you would indeed be idolaters (6:121).

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: Whoever wishes to look at the Sahifah which Muhammad (ﷺ) placed his seal upon, then let him look at these Ayat, 'Say: Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from... up to His saying That you may have Taqwa (6:151-153).'

Narrated 'Atiyyah: from Abu Sa'eed, from the Prophet (ﷺ), regarding the saying of Allah, Most High: Or some of the Signs of your Lord come (6:158). He (ﷺ) said: The sun's rising from its setting place.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are three, for which when they appear, a soul will not benefit by its faith, if it did not believe before the Signs: Ad-Dajjal, the Beast, and the rising of the sun from its setting place - or from the west.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah, Blessed and Most High, has said - and His saying is the Truth: 'When My slave considers doing something good then write it as one good for him. If he acts upon it then write ten of the same for him. And when he considers doing something evil, then do not write it. If he acts upon it, then write it. If he leaves it - and perhaps he said: if he does not act upon it, then write a good reward for him.' Then he [the Prophet (ﷺ)] recited: Whoever comes with a good, then he shall have ten the like thereof (6:160).

Narrated Sulaiman bin Harb: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, that the Prophet (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: So when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse to dust (7:143) - Hammad said: Like this. Sulaiman held his thumb over the tip of his finger on the right hand (so that only the tip of one finger was protruding) - and he [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said: So the mountain fainted. 'And Musa fell down unconscious.'
