Narrated 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah: from his father that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Shall I not narrate to you about the worst of the major sins? They said: Of course O Messenger of Allah! He said: Associating others with Allah and disobeying the parents. He said: And he sat reclining and said: 'The false testimony.' Or he said: 'The false statement.' He said: So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'If he would only stop.'

حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ بَصْرِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَلَسَ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ أَوْ قَالَ قَوْلُ الزُّورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيْتَهُ سَكَتَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ.

ابوبکرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا میں تمہیں بڑے سے بڑا گناہ نہ بتاؤں؟“ صحابہ نے عرض کیا: جی ہاں، اللہ کے رسول! ضرور بتائیے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ کے ساتھ شریک کرنا، ماں باپ کی نافرمانی کرنا“، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پہلے ٹیک لگائے ہوئے تھے پھر اٹھ بیٹھے اور فرمایا: ”جھوٹی گواہی دینا، یا جھوٹی بات کہنا“، آپ یہ بات باربار دہراتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ہم اپنے جی میں کہنے لگے کاش آپ خاموش ہو جاتے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔

Narrated Abu Umamah Al-Ansari: from 'Abdullah bin Unais Al-Juhni who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed among the worst of the major sins is Shirk with Allah, disobeying the parents, the false oath, and none insists on taking an oath in which he swears, including the like of a wing of a mosquito (of falsehood) in it - except that a spot is placed in his heart until the Day of Judgement.'

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The major sins are associating others with Allah, disobeying the parents or he said, the false oath . Shu'bah (a narrator in the chain) was in doubt.

Narrated Mujahid: from Umm Salamah that she said: The men fight and the women do not fight, and we only get half the inheritance.' So Allah, Blessed and Most High, revealed: 'And wish not for things in which Allah has made some of you excell over others... (4:32)' Mujahid said: And the following was revealed about that: 'Verily the Muslim men and the Muslim women... (33:35). And Umm Salamah was the first camel-borne woman to arrive in Al-Madinah as an emigrant.

Narrated 'Amr bin Dinar: from a man among the children of Umm Salamah, from Umm Salamah that she said: O Messenger of Allah! I have not heard Allah mentioning anything about women and emigration. So Allah, Blessed and Most High, revealed: Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female. You are members one of another (3:195).

Narrated 'Alqamah: 'Abdullah said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to recite for him while he was on the Minbar. So I recited from Surat An-Nisa for him, until I reached: How then (will it be) when We bring from each nation a witness, and We bring you (Muhammad) as a witness against these people? (4:41) The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was beckoning me (to stop) with his hand, and I looked at him and his eyes were flowing with tears.

Narrated Ibrahim: from 'Abidah that 'Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'Recite for me.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite for you while it is to you whom it was revealed?' He said: 'I love to hear it from other than me.' So I recited Surat An-Nisa until I reached: ...And We bring you (Muhammad) as a witness against these people? (4:41) He said: So I saw the eyes of the Prophet (ﷺ) overflowing with tears.
