Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari [Al-Badri] narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: The Salat is not acceptable if a man is not at rest - meaning his back - while bowing and prostrating.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ الْبَدْرِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُجْزِئُ صَلَاةٌ لَا يُقِيمُ فِيهَا الرَّجُلُ يَعْنِي صُلْبَهُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَرِفَاعَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ يَرَوْنَ أَنْ يُقِيمَ الرَّجُلُ صُلْبَهُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ لَمْ يُقِمْ صُلْبَهُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ فَصَلَاتُهُ فَاسِدَةٌ:‏‏‏‏ لِحَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُجْزِئُ صَلَاةٌ لَا يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا صُلْبَهُ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَأَبُو مَعْمَرٍ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَخْبَرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ الْبَدْرِيُّ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍوَ.

ابومسعود عقبہ بن عمرو انصاری بدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس شخص کی نماز کافی نہ ہو گی جو رکوع اور سجدے میں اپنی پیٹھ سیدھی نہ رکھے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابومسعود انصاری کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں علی بن شیبان، انس، ابوہریرہ اور رفاعہ زرقی رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- صحابہ کرام اور ان کے بعد کے لوگوں میں سے اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے کہ آدمی رکوع اور سجدے میں اپنی پیٹھ سیدھی رکھے، ۴- شافعی، احمد، اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کہتے ہیں کہ جس نے رکوع اور سجدے میں اپنی پیٹھ سیدھی نہیں رکھی تو اس کی نماز فاسد ہے، اس لیے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی حدیث ہے: ”اس شخص کی نماز کافی نہ ہو گی جو رکوع اور سجدے میں اپنی پیٹھ سیدھی نہ رکھے۔

Ali bin Abi Talib narrated: When Allah's Messenger would raise his head from bowing he would say: (Sami Allahi liman hamidal. Rabba na lakal-hamd, mil'as-samawati wa mil'al-ardi wa mil'a ma bainahuma wa mil'a ma shi'ia min shay'in ba'd) 'Allah listens to those who praise Him. O our Lord! And to You is the praise that fills the heavens and fills the earth, and fills what is between them, and fills whatever there is beyond that You will.' He said: There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Ibn Abi Awfa, Abu Juhaifa, and Abu Sa'eed.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: When the Imam says: (Sami Allahu liman hamidah) 'Allah listens to those who praise Him. Then (all of you) say: (Rabbana wa lakal-hamd) 'O our Lord! And to You is the praise for whoever's saying concurs with the saying of the angels, then his past sins will be forgiven.

Wa'il bin Hujr narrated: I saw Allah's Messenger when he prostrated placing his knees (on the ground) before his hands, and when he got up, he raised his hands before his knees.
