Abu Humaid As-Sa'idi narrated: When the Prophet would prostrate, he placed his nose and his forehead on the ground, and he held his forearms away from his sides, and he placed his hands parallel to his shoulders.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ بُنْدَارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّاسُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ أَمْكَنَ أَنْفَهُ وَجَبْهَتَهُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَحَّى يَدَيْهِ عَنْ جَنْبَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَوَضَعَ كَفَّيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَوَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ وَأَنْفِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ سَجَدَ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ دُونَ أَنْفِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَدْ قَالَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ:‏‏‏‏ يُجْزِئُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُجْزِئُهُ حَتَّى يَسْجُدَ عَلَى الْجَبْهَةِ وَالْأَنْفِ.

ابو حمید ساعدی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سجدہ کرتے تو اپنی ناک اور پیشانی خوب اچھی طرح زمین پر جماتے، اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کو اپنے دونوں پہلوؤں سے دور رکھتے، اور اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیوں کو دونوں شانوں کے بالمقابل رکھتے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوحمید کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابن عباس، وائل بن حجر اور ابوسعید رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- اور اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے کہ آدمی اپنی پیشانی اور ناک دونوں پر سجدہ کرے، اور اگر صرف پیشانی پر سجدہ کرے ناک پر نہ کرے تو اہل علم میں سے کچھ لوگوں کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ اسے کافی ہو گا، اور کچھ لوگوں کا کہنا ہے کہ کافی نہیں ہو گا جب تک کہ وہ پیشانی اور ناک دونوں پر سجدہ نہ کرے ۱؎۔

Abu Ishaq narrated: I said to Al-Bara bin Azib: 'Where would the Prophet place his face when he prostrated?' He said: 'Between his hands.'

Al-Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib narrated that he heard : Allah's Messenger Saying: When the worshipper prostrates with him: His face, his hands, his knees, and his feet.

Ibn Abbas narrated: The Prophet ordered that one prostrate on seven bones and that he not gather his hair nor his garment.

Ubaidallah bin Abdullah bin Arqam Al-Khuza'I narrated from his father (Abdullah bin Arqam), who said: I was with my father at the plains of Namirah. I passed by a mount and saw Allah's Messenger standing in Salat. He said: I was looking at the earthiness of his armpits when he prostrated. [That is]: Whiteness.

Jabir narrated that : the Prophet said: When one of you prostrates, then let him be balanced, and let him not lay his forearms down like the lying of the dog.

Anas narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: Be balanced in the prostration, and let one of you not spread his forearms (on the ground) in the Salat like the spreading of the dog.
