Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet(s.a.w) said: Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him honor his guest. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him say what is good or remain silent.

حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وفي الباب عن عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ الْكَعْبِيِّ الْخُزَاعِيِّ وَاسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ خُوَيْلِدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو تو اسے چاہیئے کہ وہ اپنے مہمان کی عزت کرے، اور جو اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو تو اسے چاہیئے کہ وہ بھلی بات کہے یا خاموش رہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ، انس رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔
