Abu Hudhaifah narrated - and he was one of the companions of 'Abdullãh bin Mas'üd - from 'Aishah who said: I told the Prophet (ﷺ) about a man, so he said: 'I do not like to talk about a man, even if I were to get this or that (for doing so). She said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Safiyyah is a woman who is ... and she used her hand as if to indicate that she is short - So he said: 'You have said a statement which, if it were mixed in with the water of the sea, it would pollute it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ، عَنْ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ حَكَيْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنِّي حَكَيْتُ رَجُلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ صَفِيَّةَ امْرَأَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَتْ بِيَدِهَا:‏‏‏‏ هَكَذَا كَأَنَّهَا تَعْنِي قَصِيرَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ مَزَجْتِ بِكَلِمَةٍ لَوْ مَزَجْتِ بِهَا مَاءَ الْبَحْرِ لَمُزِجَ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے ایک شخص کی نقل کی تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”مجھے یہ پسند نہیں کہ میں کسی انسان کی نقل کروں اور مجھے اتنا اور اتنا مال ملے“۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! بیشک صفیہ ایک عورت ہیں، اور اپنے ہاتھ سے اس طرح اشارہ کیا، گویا یہ مراد لے رہی تھیں کہ صفیہ پستہ قد ہیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”بیشک تم نے اپنی باتوں میں ایسی بات ملائی ہے کہ اگر اسے سمندر کے پانی میں ملا دیا جائے تو اس کا رنگ بدل جائے“ ۱؎۔

Yahya bin Wath-thab narrated: From a Shaikh among the Companions of the Prophet (s.a.w) , I think it is from the Prophet(s.a.w), who said: 'Indeed when the Muslim mixes with the people and he is patient with their harm, he is better than the Muslim who does not mix with the people and is not patient with their harm.'
