Ibn Abbas said: Allah's Messenger combined the Zuhr and Asr (prayers), and the Maghrib and Isha (prayers) in Al-Madinah, without being in a state of fear, nor due to rain.

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلَا مَطَرٍ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَرَادَ بِذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ. وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَوَاهُ جَابِرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقد روي عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرُ هَذَا

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بغیر خوف اور بارش ۱؎ کے مدینے میں ظہر اور عصر کو ایک ساتھ اور مغرب اور عشاء کو ایک ساتھ جمع کیا ۲؎۔ ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے پوچھا گیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا اس سے کیا منشأ تھی؟ کہا: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا منشأ یہ تھی کہ آپ اپنی امت کو کسی پریشانی میں نہ ڈالیں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- اس باب میں ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے بھی روایت ہے، ۲- ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما کی حدیث کئی سندوں سے مروی ہے، ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے اس کے خلاف بھی مرفوعاً مروی ہے ۳؎۔

Ibn Abbas narrated that : the Prophet said: Whoever combines two prayers without any excuse then he has committed something from the major sins.

Albdullah bin Zaid narrated: When we awoke, we went to Allah's Messenger to inform him of the dream. He said: 'Indeed this dream is true. So go to Bilal, for he has a better and louder voice than you. Convey to him what was said to you, so that he may call (to the prayer) with that.' He said: When Umar bin Al-Khattab heard Bilal calling for the prayer he went to Allah's Messenger, and he was dragging his Izar, (as he was hurrying) saying: 'O Allah's Messenger! By the One Who sent you with the truth! I dreamt the same as what he said.''' He said: So Allah's Messenger said: 'To Allah is the praise, so that confirms it even more.'''

Ibn Umar narrated: When the Muslims arrived in AI-Madinah, they used to assemble for the Salat, and guess the time for it there was no one who called for it (the prayer). One day they discussed that and some of them said that they should use a bell like the bell the Christians use. Others said they should use a trumpet like the horn the Jews use. But Umar [bin Al-Khattab] said: 'Wouldn't it better if we had a man call for the prayer?' He said: So Allah's Messenger said: 'O Bilal! Stand up and call for the Salat.'

Abu Mahdhurah narrated that : Allah's Messenger sat with him and taught him the Adhan word for word. Ibrahim said, It is the same as our Adhan. Bishr said: So I said to him, 'Repeat it to me.' So he described the Adhan with At-Tarjl'.
