Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a pile of food. He put his fingers in it and felt wetness. He said: 'O owner of the food! What is this ?' He replied: 'It was rained upon O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Why not put it on top of the food so the people can see it?' Then he said: 'Whoever cheats, he is not one of us.' He said: There are narrations on this topic from Ibn 'Umar, Abu Al-Hamra', Ibn 'Abbas, Buraidah, Abu Burdah bin Niyar, and Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman. [Abu 'Eisa said:] The Hadith of Abu Hurairah is Hasan Sahih Hadith. This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge. They dislike cheating and they say that cheating is unlawful.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى صُبْرَةٍ مِنْ طَعَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِيهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَنَالَتْ أَصَابِعُهُ بَلَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا صَاحِبَ الطَّعَامِ مَا هَذَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَصَابَتْهُ السَّمَاءُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَفَلَا جَعَلْتَهُ فَوْقَ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ غَشَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي الْحَمْرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَرِهُوا الْغِشَّ وَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ الْغِشُّ حَرَامٌ.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک غلہ کے ڈھیر سے گزرے، تو آپ نے اس کے اندر اپنا ہاتھ داخل کر دیا، آپ کی انگلیاں تر ہو گئیں تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”غلہ والے! یہ کیا معاملہ ہے؟“ اس نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! بارش سے بھیگ گیا ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اسے اوپر کیوں نہیں کر دیا تاکہ لوگ دیکھ سکیں“، پھر آپ نے فرمایا: ”جو دھوکہ دے ۱؎، ہم میں سے نہیں ہے“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲ - اس باب میں ابن عمر، ابوحمراء، ابن عباس، بریدہ، ابوبردہ بن دینار اور حذیفہ بن یمان رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔ وہ دھوکہ دھڑی کو ناپسند کرتے ہیں اور اسے حرام کہتے ہیں۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took a camel of a particular age on loan. He gave back to him a camel of a better age than the one he was given. He said: 'The best among you is the best in repaying.' He said: There is something on this topic from Abu Rafi'. [Abu 'Eisa said:] The Hadith of Abu Hurairah is a Hasan Sahih Hadith. Shu'bah and Sufyan reported it from Salamah. This is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge, they saw no harm is taking a camel of a particular age as a loan. This is the view of Ash-Shafi'i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. But some of them disliked that.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man behaved in a rude manner while trying to collect a debt from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So his Companions were about to harm him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Leave him, for indeed the owner of the the right has the right to speak.' Then he said: 'Purchase a camel for him and give it to him.' So they searched out but they did not find a camel but of a better ager than his camel. So he said: 'Buy it and give it to him. For indeed the best of you is the best in repaying.'

Narrated Abu Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): The Messenger of Allah got a camel in advance. Some camels from the charity. Abu Rafi' said: So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told me to pay the man back for his camel. I said: 'I did not find among the camels but a superior selection of Raba'. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Give it to him, for indeed the base of people is the best of them in repaying.' [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
