Translation

Simak bin Harb narrated that he heard Nu’man bin Bashir say: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to straighten the rows until he made them like a spear or an arrow-shaft. Once he saw a man’s chest (sticking out) so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Make your rows straight or Allah will create division among you.’”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَوِّي الصَّفَّ حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ مِثْلَ الرُّمْحِ أَوِ الْقِدْحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَأَى صَدْرَ رَجُلٍ نَاتِئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ سَوُّوا صُفُوفَكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ لَيُخَالِفَنَّ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ وُجُوهِكُمْ .

نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نیزہ یا تیر کی طرح صف سیدھی کرتے تھے، ایک بار آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کا سینہ صف سے باہر نکلا ہوا دیکھا تو فرمایا: اپنی صفیں برابر کرو، یا اللہ تمہارے چہروں کے درمیان اختلاف پیدا فرما دے گا ۱؎۔

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who complete the rows, and whoever fills a gap, Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby.’”

Bara’ bin ‘Azib said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’”
