It was narrated from ‘Awf bin Malik Al-Ashja’i that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There will be a treaty between you and Banu Asfar (The Romans), but they will betray you and will march against you with eighty banners, under each of which there will be twelve thousand troops.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي بُسْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ تَكُونُ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ بَنِي الْأَصْفَرِ هُدْنَةٌ،‏‏‏‏ فَيَغْدِرُونَ بِكُمْ،‏‏‏‏ فَيَسِيرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ فِي ثَمَانِينَ غَايَةً،‏‏‏‏ تَحْتَ كُلِّ غَايَةٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا .
عوف بن مالک اشجعی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تمہارے اور بنی اصفر ( رومیوں ) کے درمیان صلح ہو گی، پھر وہ تم سے عہد شکنی کریں گے، اور تمہارے مقابلے کے لیے اسی جھنڈوں کے ساتھ فوج لے کر آئیں گے، اور ہر جھنڈے کے نیچے بارہ ہزار فوج ہو گی ۔

They will be wearing shoes of hair, using leather shields and tying their horses to date-palm trees.”

It was narrated from Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Indifference towards this world does not mean forbidding what is permitted, or squandering wealth, rather indifference towards this world means not thinking that what you have in your hand is more reliable than what is in Allah’s Hand, and it means feeling that the reward for a calamity that befalls you is greater than that which the calamity makes you miss out on.’”
