It was narrated that Masruq said: I met 'Umar bin Khattab and he said: 'Who are you?' I said: 'Masruq bin Adja'.' 'Umar said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) saying, Ajda' is a devil.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقِيتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْأَجْدَعِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ الْأَجْدَعُ شَيْطَانٌ .

مسروق کہتے ہیں کہ میری ملاقات عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوئی، تو انہوں نے پوچھا: تم کون ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا: میں مسروق بن اجدع ہوں، ( یہ سن کر ) عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ اجدع ایک شیطان ہے ۔

It was narrated from Muhammad that they heard Abu Hurairah say: Abul Qasim(ﷺ) said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah.

It was narrated that Anas said: The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) was in Baqi', and a man called out to another man: 'O Abul-Qasim!' The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) turned to him, and he said: 'I didn't mean you.' The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah.'
