It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'The (following) was revealed about the people of Quba': 'In it (the mosque) are men who love to clean and purify themselves. And Allah loves those who make themselves clean and pure.' He said: 'They used to clean themselves with water (after urinating), and this Verse was revealed concerning them.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ نَزَلَتْ فِي أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ سورة التوبة آية 108 قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانُوا يَسْتَنْجُونَ بِالْمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَنَزَلَتْ فِيهِمْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ آیت کریمہ اہل قباء کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی: «فيه رجال يحبون أن يتطهروا والله يحب المطهرين» اس میں کچھ لوگ ہیں جو پاکی کو پسند کرتے ہیں، اور اللہ پاکی اختیار کرنے والوں کو پسند کرتا ہے ( سورة التوبة: 108 ) ، ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: وہ پانی سے استنجاء کرتے تھے تو ان کے متعلق یہ آیت نازل ہوئی۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Prophet relieved himself, then he cleaned himself (with water) from a pot made of brass, then he wiped his hand on the ground. Another chain with similar wording.

Ibrahim bin Jarir narrated from his father that : The Prophet of Allah entered a thicket and relieved himself, then Jarir brought him a small water skin from which he cleansed himself, then he wiped his hand in the dirt.

It was narrated that Jabir said: The Prophet commanded (us) to tie up our water skins and cover our vessels.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: I used to cover three vessels for the Messenger of Allah at night: A vessel (of water) for his ablution, a vessel for his tooth stick and a vessel for his drink.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah never entrusted his purification to anyone nor his charity that he had given to anyone; he would be the one to take care of these matters himself.

It was narrated that Abu Razin said: 'I saw Abu Hurairah hitting his forehead with his hand and saying: O people of Iraq! Do you claim that I would tell a lie against the Messenger of Allah so that it may be more convenient for you and a sin upon me?' I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'If a dog licks the vessel of anyone of you, let him wash it seven times.'
