it was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Kill snakes, and kill Dhit-Tufytain* and the Abtar**, for they take away the sight and cause miscarriage.” *A snake that has two white stripes on its back. **A snake with a short or mutilated tail.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سَالِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْأَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ،‏‏‏‏ وَاقْتُلُوا ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْأَبْتَرَ،‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ،‏‏‏‏ وَيُسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ .
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سانپوں کو مار ڈالو، دو دھاری اور دم کٹے سانپ کو ضرور مارو، اس لیے کہ یہ دونوں آنکھ کی بینائی زائل کر دیتے اور حمل کو گرا دیتے ہیں ۔
