Translation

It was narrated from Jabir that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for permission to be cupped, and the Prophet (ﷺ) told Abu Taibah to cup her.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ جَابِرٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحِجَامَةِ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا طَيْبَةَ أَنْ يَحْجُمَهَا ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ أَخَاهَا مِنَ الرِّضَاعَةِ أَوْ غُلَامًا لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ .

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پچھنا لگانے کی اجازت طلب کی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوطیبہ کو حکم دیا کہ وہ انہیں پچھنا لگائے، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میرا خیال ہے کہ ابوطیبہ یا تو ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے رضاعی بھائی تھے یا پھر نابالغ لڑکے ۱؎۔

‘Abdur-Rahman Al-A’raj said: “I heard ‘Abdullah bin Buhainah say: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was cupped in Lahyi Jamal,* in the middle of his head, while he was a Muhrim.”

It was narrated that ‘Ali said: “Jibra’il came down to the Prophet (ﷺ) with (the recommendation of) cupping in the two veins at the side of the neck and the base of the neck.”

It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) was cupped in the two veins at theside of the neck and the base of the neck.

It was narrated from Abu Kabshah Al-Anmari that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to be cupped on his head and between his shoulders, and he said: “Whoever lets blood from these places, it does not matter if he does not seek treatment for anything else.”

It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet (ﷺ) fell from his horse onto the truck of a palm tree and dislocated his foot. (One of the narrators) Waki’ said: “Meaning that the Prophet (ﷺ) was cupped because of that for bruising.”

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever wants to be cupped, let him seek out the seventeenth, nineteenth or twenty-first (of the month); and let none of you allow his blood to rage so that it kills him.”
