Translation

It was narrated that Khalid bin Sa’d said: “We went out and with us was Ghalib bin Abjar. He fell sick along the way, and when we came to Al-Madinah he was sick. Ibn Abu ‘Atiq came to visit him and said to us: ‘You should use this black seed. Take five or seven (seeds) and grind them to a powder, then drop them into his nose with drops of olive oil, on this side and on this side. For ‘Aishah narrated to them that she heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “This black seed is a healing for every disease, except the Sam.” I said: “What is the Sam?” He said: “Death.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا وَمَعَنَا غَالِبُ بْنُ أَبْجَرَ فَمَرِضَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ،‏‏‏‏ فَعَادَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ لَنَا:‏‏‏‏ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ،‏‏‏‏ فَخُذُوا مِنْهَا خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا فَاسْحَقُوهَا،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ اقْطُرُوهَا فِي أَنْفِهِ بِقَطَرَاتِ زَيْتٍ فِي هَذَا الْجَانِبِ،‏‏‏‏ وَفِي هَذَا الْجَانِبِ،‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُمْ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْحَبَّةَ السَّوْدَاءَ شِفَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ السَّامُ ،‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا السَّامُ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمَوْتُ .

خالد بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سفر پر نکلے، ہمارے ساتھ غالب بن ابجر بھی تھے، وہ راستے میں بیمار پڑ گئے، پھر ہم مدینہ آئے، ابھی وہ بیمار ہی تھے، تو ان کی عیادت کے لیے ابن ابی عتیق آئے، اور ہم سے کہا: تم اس کالے دانے کا استعمال اپنے اوپر لازم کر لو، تم اس کے پانچ یا سات دانے لو، انہیں پیس لو پھر زیتون کے تیل میں ملا کر چند قطرے ان کی ناک میں ڈالو، اس نتھنے میں بھی اور اس نتھنے میں بھی، اس لیے کہ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ان سے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس کالے دانے یعنی کلونجی میں ہر مرض کا علاج ہے، سوائے اس کے کہ وہ «سام» ہو ، میں نے عرض کیا کہ «سام» کیا ہے؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: موت ۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever eats honey three mornings each month, will not suffer any serious calamity.”

It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “Some honey was given as a gift to the Prophet (ﷺ), and he shared among us spoonful by spoonful. I took my spoonful then I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, can I have another?’ He said: ‘Yes.’”

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “You should take the two that bring healing: Honey and the Qur’an.”

It was narrated from Abu Sa`eed and Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Truffles are a type of manna, and their water is a healing for eye (diseases). And the `Ajwah* are from Paradise, and they are healing for possession.”** Another chain from Abu Sa`eed from the Prophet (ﷺ) with similar wording.

‘Amr bin Huraith said: “I heard Sa’eed bin Zaid bin ‘Amr bin Nufail narrating from the Prophet (ﷺ) that: ‘Truffles are a type of manna that Allah sent down to the Children of Israel, and their water is a healing for eye (diseases).’”

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “We used to narrate from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and mention truffles, and they said: ‘(It is) the smallpox of the earth.’ When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was told of what they were saying: he said: ‘Truffles are a type of manna, and the Ajwah are from Paradise, and they are a healing from poison.’”
