Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

It was narrated that Suwaid bin Qais said: Makhrafah Al' Abdi and I brought linens from Hajar[1] The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to us to bargain with us with some trousers. There was someone with me who weighed (the goods) in exchange for a wage. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said to the one weighing: 'Weigh and add more.'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْسِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَفَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَزًّا مِنْ هَجَرَ فَجَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَاوَمَنَا سَرَاوِيلَ وَعِنْدَنَا وَزَّانٌ يَزِنُ بِالْأَجْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا وَزَّانُ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ .

سوید بن قیس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں اور مخرفہ عبدی رضی اللہ عنہ دونوں ہجر سے کپڑا لائے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے، آپ نے ہم سے پاجاموں کا مول بھاؤ کیا، ہمارے پاس ایک تولنے والا تھا جو اجرت لے کر تولتا تھا، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے فرمایا: او تولنے والے! تولو اور پلڑا جھکا کر تولو ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Simak bin Harb said: I heard Malik Abu Safwan bin 'Umairah, say: 'I bought a pair of trousers from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) before the Hijrah, and he weighed it for me and allowed more. '

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When you weigh, allow more.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah, they were the worst people in weights and measures. Then Allah, Glorious is He revealed: Woe to the Mutaffifun (those who give less in measure and weight) ,[1] and they were fair in weights and measures after that.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a man who was selling food. He put his hand in it and saw that there was something wrong with it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, 'He is not one of us who cheats. '
