Translation

Arabic, english and urdu

It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b said: I taught a man the Qur'an, and he gave me a bow. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: 'If you accept it you will be accepting a bow of fire.' So I returned it.

حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْكَلَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَلَّمْتُ رَجُلًا الْقُرْآنَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَهْدَى إِلَيَّ قَوْسًا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ أَخَذْتَهَا أَخَذْتَ قَوْسًا مِنْ نَارٍ فَرَدَدْتُهَا .

ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ایک شخص کو قرآن پڑھنا سکھایا تو اس نے مجھے ایک کمان ہدیے میں دی، میں نے اس کا ذکر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر تم نے یہ لی تو آگ کی ایک کمان لی ، اس وجہ سے میں نے اس کو واپس کر دیا۔
