It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘When anyone of you gets up to perform prayer, then indeed mercy is facing him, so he should not smooth the pebbles.’”
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ اللَّيْثِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ الرَّحْمَةَ تُوَاجِهُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَا يَمْسَحْ بِالْحَصَى .
ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب کوئی شخص نماز کے لیے کھڑا ہو تو کنکریوں پر ہاتھ نہ پھیرے، اس لیے کہ رحمت اس کے سامنے ہوتی ہے ۔
