Translation

It was narrated from Kabshah bint Ka'b bin Malik that Abu Qatadah entered upon her, then she narrated the following: I poured some water from him for Wudu', and a cat came and drank from it, so he tilted the vessel for it to drink. Kabshah said: He saw me looking at him and said: 'Are you surprised, O daughter of my brother?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: They are not impure, rather they are among the males and females (animals) who go around among you.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدَةَ بِنْتِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ كَبْشَةَ بِنْتِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ ذَكَرَتْ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَكَبْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءًا فَجَاءَتْ هِرَّةٌ فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ فَأَصْغَى لَهَا الْإِنَاءَ حَتَّى شَرِبَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قالت كَبْشَةُ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَآنِي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَعْجَبِينَ يَا ابْنَةَ أَخِي ؟ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِنَجَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ الطَّوَّافِينَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَالطَّوَّافَاتِ .

کبشہ بنت کعب بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ ان کے پاس آئے، پھر ( کبشہ نے ) ایک ایسی بات کہی جس کا مفہوم یہ ہے کہ میں نے ان کے لیے وضو کا پانی لا کر ایک برتن میں ڈالا، اتنے میں ایک بلی آئی اور اس سے پینے لگی، تو انہوں نے برتن ٹیڑھا کر دیا یہاں تک کہ اس بلی نے پانی پی لیا، کبشہ کہتی ہیں: تو انہوں نے مجھے دیکھا کہ میں انہیں ( حیرت سے ) دیکھ رہی ہوں، تو کہنے لگے: بھتیجی! کیا تم تعجب کر رہی ہو؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں، انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ ناپاک نہیں ہے، یہ تو تمہارے پاس بکثرت آنے جانے والوں اور آنے جانے والیوں میں سے ہے ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Anas said: An announcer came to us from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'Allah and His Messenger forbid you from (eating) the flesh of domestic donkeys, for it is filth.'

It was narrated that 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: While I was menstruating, I would nibble meat from a bone, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would put his mouth where mine had been. And while I was menstruating, I would drink from a vessel and he would put his mouth where mine had been.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: Men and women used to perform Wudu' together during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

It was narrated from 'Aishah that she used to perform Ghusl with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from a single vessel.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Jabr said: I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups).'

It was narrated from Shu'bah that Habib said: I heard 'Abbad bin Tamim narrate from my grandmother - who was Umm 'Umarah bint Ka'b - that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Wudu', and he was brought a vessel in which there were two-thirds of a Mudd. Shu'bah said: I remember that he washed his forearms and started rubbing them, and he wiped the inside of his ear, but I do not remember whether he wiped the outside of them.
