Translation

It was narrated from 'Aishah that: She put up a curtain on which there were images, then the Messenger of Allah [SAW] came in and took it down, so she cut it up (and made) two pillows. A man in the gathering there whose name was Rabi'ah bin 'Ata' said: I heard Abu Muhammad - meaning Al-Qasim - narrate that 'Aishah said: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to recline on them.'

أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا بُكَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهَا نَصَبَتْ سِتْرًا فِيهِ تَصَاوِيرُ،‏‏‏‏ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَزَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَطَعَتْهُ وِسَادَتَيْنِ . قَالَ رَجُلٌ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ حِينَئِذٍ،‏‏‏‏ يُقَالُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي الْقَاسِمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْتَفِقُ عَلَيْهِمَا .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ایک پردہ لٹکایا جس میں تصویریں تھیں، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اندر آئے تو اسے نکال دیا، چنانچہ میں نے اسے کاٹ کر دو تکیے بنا دیے۔ اس وقت مجلس میں بیٹھے ایک شخص نے جسے ربیعہ بن عطا کہا جاتا ہے: نے کہا میں نے ابو محمد، یعنی قاسم کو، عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کرتے ہوئے سنا، وہ بولیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان پر ٹیک لگاتے تھے۔

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] came from a journey, and I had hung a curtain on which there were images over a niche. He took it down and said: 'The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to match the creation of Allah.'

It was narrated that 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet [SAW], said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] entered upon me, and I had put up a curtain on which there were images. When he saw it, his face changed color, then he tore it down with his hand and said: 'The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to imitate the creation of Allah.'

It was narrated that An-Nadr bin Anas said: I was sitting with Ibn 'Abbas when a man from among the people of Al-'Iraq came to him and said: 'I make these images; what do you say concerning them?' He said: 'Come closer, come closer. I heard Muhammad [SAW] say: Whoever makes an image in this world will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to breathe a soul into it, and he will not be able to do so.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whoever makes an image will be punished until (he is commanded) to breathe a soul into it, and he will not be able to do so.'
