It was narrated from 'Umar that: He did not allow the wearing of silk except (something) the width of four fingers.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ وَبَرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ. ح، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وأَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُرَخِّصْ فِي الدِّيبَاجِ إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ أَرْبَعِ أَصَابِعَ .

عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے دیباج کی اجازت صرف چار انگلی تک دی گئی ہے ۱؎۔

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that: He came to the Prophet [SAW] wearing two garments dyed with safflower. The Prophet [SAW] got angry and said: Go and take them off. He said: Where should I throw them, O Messenger of Allah? He said: In the fire.

Ali said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from wearing gold rings, and from wearing Al-Qassiyah garments, and garments dyed with safflower, and reciting Qur'an while I am bowing.
