It was narrated that Anas said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] came out wearing a silver ring. He said: 'Whoever wants to make a ring like this, let him do so, but do not put the same inscription.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدِ اتَّخَذَ حَلْقَةً مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَصُوغَ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا تَنْقُشُوا عَلَى نَقْشِهِ .

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نکلے اور آپ نے چاندی ایک چھلا بنوایا تھا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”جو اس طرح کا چھلا بنوانا چاہے تو بنوا لے، البتہ جو کچھ اس پر نقش ہے اسے نقش نہ کرائے“۔

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] put on a ring, and he had some words inscribed on it. He said: 'We have put on a ring and have had some words engraved on it; no one of you should copy this inscription.' Then Anas said: It is as if I can see its whiteness on his hand.
