It was narrated from Abu Idris Al-Khawlani that: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] saw a man wearing a gold ring. A similar report.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قِرَاءَةً،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَائِذٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ نَحْوَهُ.

ابوادریس خولانی سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو سونے کی انگوٹھی پہنے دیکھا پھر آگے اسی طرح بیان کیا۔

It was narrated from Abu Idris that : The Prophet [SAW] saw a gold ring on a man's hand and he struck his finger with a stick that he had with him, until he threw it away.

Abdullah bin Buraidah narrated from his father that: A man came to the Prophet [SAW] and he was wearing an iron ring. He said: Why do I see you wearing the jewelry of the people of Hell? He threw it away, then he came and he was wearing a brass ring. He said: Why do I notice the stench of idols from you? So he threw it away, and said: O Messenger of Allah, what should I use? He said: Silver, but it should not equal a Mithqal.
