Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Tarafah, from 'Arafah bin As'ad bin Karib, who was his grandfather- saying that he saw his grandfather, and he said: His nose had been cut off at the battle of Al-Kulab during the Jahiliyyah, so he wore a nose made of silver, but it began to rot on him, so the Prophet [SAW] told him to wear a nose made of gold.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْهَبِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ طَرَفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ أَسْعَدَ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ جَدُّهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ رَأَى جَدَّهُ أُصِيبَ أَنْفُهُ يَوْمَ الْكُلَابِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَاتَّخَذَ أَنْفًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَنْتَنَ عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَهُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ .

عبدالرحمٰن بن طرفہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے دیکھا کہ جاہلیت میں جنگ کلاب کے دن ان کے دادا ( عرفجہ بن اسد رضی اللہ عنہ ) کی ناک کٹ گئی، تو انہوں نے چاندی کی ناک بنوائی، پھر اس میں بدبو آ گئی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ سونے کی ناک بنوا لیں۔

It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab said: Umar said to Suhaib: 'Why do I see you wearing a ring of gold?' He said: 'One who was better than you saw it and did not criticize it.' He said: 'Who was that?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW].'

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] started to wear a gold ring, and the people started to wear gold rings. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'I was wearing this ring, but I will never wear it again.' He threw it away and the people threw their rings away.'
