It was narrated that Az-Zubair said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Change gray hair but do not imitate the Jews.'

أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كُنَاسَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ غَيِّرُوا الشَّيْبَ وَلَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ . وَكِلَاهُمَا غَيْرُ مَحْفُوظٍ.

زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بڑھاپے کا رنگ بدلو اور یہودیوں کی مشابہت اختیار نہ کرو“، یہ دونوں روایتیں محفوظ نہیں ہیں ۱؎۔
