It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah said: The hand of the thief is to be cut off for one-quarter of a Dinar or more.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ فِي رُبْعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ ”چور کا ہاتھ چوتھائی دینار اور اس سے زیادہ میں کاٹا جائے گا“۔
