It was narrated that Abu Salih heard Abu Saeed Al-Khudri say: I said to Ibn Abbas: 'Do you think that what you are saying is something that you found in the Book of Allah, or something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I did not find it in the Book of Allah, nor did I hear it from the messenger of Allah, rather Usamah bin Zaid told me that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Riba is only in credit. '

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَمْرٍو،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ،‏‏‏‏ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ،‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَأَيْتَ هَذَا الَّذِي تَقُولُ،‏‏‏‏ أَشَيْئًا وَجَدْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ،‏‏‏‏ أَوْ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا وَجَدْتُهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَكِنْ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا الرِّبَا فِي النَّسِيئَةِ .

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے کہا: آپ جو یہ باتیں کہتے ہیں، کیا آپ نے انہیں کتاب اللہ ( قرآن ) میں پایا ہے یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: نہ تو میں نے انہیں کتاب اللہ ( قرآن ) میں پایا ہے اور نہ ہی انہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے، لیکن اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہما نے مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”سود تو صرف ادھار میں ہے“۔

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I used to sell camels at Al-Baqi and I would sell Dinars in exchange for Dirhams. I came to the Prophet in the house of Hafsah and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I want to ask you: I sell camels in Al-Baqi and I sell Dinars in exchange for Dirhams. He said: 'There is nothing wrong with it if you take the price on that day, unless you depart when there is still unfinished business between you both (buyer and seller). '

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I used to sell gold for silver, or silver for gold. I came to the Messenger of Allah and told him about that, and he said: 'If you make a deal with your companion, d o not leave him when there is still any ambiguity (in the deal) between you. '
