Translation

it was narrated that Abu Sa' eed Al-Khudri said: At the time of the Messenger of Allah, a ma suffered loss of some fruit that he had purchased, and his debts increased. The Messenger of Allah said: 'give him charity.' So the people gave him charity, but that was not enough to pay of his debts. The Messenger of Allah said: Take what you find but you have no right to or than that.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُصِيبَ رَجُلٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثِمَارٍ ابْتَاعَهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَكَثُرَ دَيْنُهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ تَصَدَّقُوا عَلَيْهِ ،‏‏‏‏ فَتَصَدَّقَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ ذَلِكَ وَفَاءَ دَيْنِهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ خُذُوا مَا وَجَدْتُمْ وَلَيْسَ لَكُمْ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ .

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ایک شخص کے پھلوں پر جسے اس نے خرید رکھا تھا کوئی آفت آ گئی، چنانچہ اس پر بہت سارا قرض ہو گیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اسے خیرات دو“، تو لوگوں نے اسے خیرات دی، لیکن خیرات اتنی اکٹھا نہ ہوئی جس سے اس کے تمام قرض کی ادائیگی ہو جاتی تو آپ نے ( اس کے قرض خواہوں سے ) کہا: ”جو پا گئے ہو وہ لے لو، اس کے علاوہ اب کچھ اور دینا لینا نہیں ہے“ ۱؎۔
