It was narrated from Muhammad bin Safwan that: he caught two rabbits and he could not find a knife with which to slaughter then, so he slaughtered them with Marwah. Then he came to the Prophet and said: O Mesenger of Allah! I caught two rabbits but I could not find a knife with which to slaughter them, so I slaughtered them with Marwah;l can I eat them? He said: Eat (them).
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَامِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ أَرْنَبَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَجِدْ حَدِيدَةً يَذْبَحُهُمَا بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَّاهُمَا بِمَرْوَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنِّي اصْطَدْتُ أَرْنَبَيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ حَدِيدَةً أُذَكِّيهِمَا بِهِ فَذَكَّيْتُهُمَا بِمَرْوَةٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَفَآكُلُ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلْ .
محمد بن صفوان رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   انہیں دو خرگوش ملے انہیں کوئی لوہا نہ ملا جس سے وہ انہیں ذبح کرتے تو انہیں پتھر سے ذبح کر دیا، پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، اور کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میں نے دو خرگوش شکار کئے مجھے کوئی لوہا نہ مل سکا جس سے میں انہیں ذبح کرتا تو میں نے ان کو ایک تیز دھار والے پتھر سے ذبح کر دیا، کیا میں انہیں کھاؤں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”کھاؤ“۔
