It was narrated from al-Hasan: One of the prophets stopped beneath a tree and an ant bit him, so he gave instructions that their nest be burned with all the ants inside it. Then Allah revealed to him 'Why did you not punish just one ant? Al-Ash' ath said: A similar report was narrated from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, in which were added the words: 'for they glorify Allah.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ شُمَيْلٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا أَشْعَثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحَسَنِ:‏‏‏‏ نَزَلَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلَدَغَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَ بِبَيْتِهِنَّ فَحُرِّقَ عَلَى مَا فِيهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ فَهَلَّا نَمْلَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ . وقَالَ الْأَشْعَثُ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مِثْلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزَادَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّهُنَّ يُسَبِّحْنَ .
حسن بصری سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک نبی ایک درخت کے نیچے ٹھہرے تو انہیں ایک چیونٹی نے کاٹ لیا، انہوں نے ان کے گھروں کے بارے میں حکم دیا تو ان میں جو بھی تھا اسے جلا دیا گیا، اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کی طرف وحی نازل کی: ”آخر تم نے صرف ایک کو کیوں نہ جلایا“۔ اشعث کہتے ہیں: ابن سیرین سے روایت ہے وہ ابوہریرہ سے اور ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اسی جیسی حدیث روایت کرتے ہیں، اس میں یہ زائد ہے ”اس لیے کہ وہ تسبیح ( اللہ کی پاکی بیان ) کر رہی تھیں“۔

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin al-As that the Messenger of Allah said to a man: I have been instructed to take the Day of Sacrifice as an 'Id which Allah, the Might and Sublime, has ordained for this Ummah. The man said: What do you think if I cannot find anything but a female sheep that has been loaned to me so that I may benefit from its milk - should I sacrifice it? He said: No. Rather cut something from your hair and your nails, trim your mustache and shave your pubic hairs, and you will have a complete reward with Allah, the Might and Sublime, as if you had offered the sacrifice.
