It was narrated that Hafsah said: Umm 'Atiyah would never mention the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) without saying: 'May my father be ransomed for him.' I said: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say such and such?' And she said: 'Yes, may my father be ransomed for him.' He said: 'Let the mature girls, virgins staying in seclusion, and menstruating woman go out and witness the good occasions and the supplications of the Muslims, but let the menstruating women keep away from the prayer place.'
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قالت:‏‏‏‏ كَانَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ لَا تَذْكُرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ بِأَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بِأَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لِتَخْرُجْ الْعَوَاتِقُ وَذَوَاتُ الْخُدُورِ وَالْحُيَّضُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَشْهَدْنَ الْخَيْرَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَعْتَزِلِ الْحُيَّضُ الْمُصَلَّى .
حفصہ (حفصہ بنت سیرین) کہتی ہیں کہ   ام عطیہ جب بھی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ذکر کرتیں تو کہتیں: میرے والد آپ پر قربان ہوں، تو میں نے پوچھا: کیا آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ایسا ایسا فرماتے سنا ہے، انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، میرے والد آپ پر قربان ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے:  بالغ لڑکیاں، پردے والیاں، اور حائضہ عورتیں نکلیں، اور خطبہ اور مسلمانوں کی دعا میں شریک ہوں، البتہ حائضہ عورتیں نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ سے الگ رہیں ۔

It was narrated from 'Aishah that she said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): Safiyyah bint Huyai began menstruating. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Perhaps she has detained us. Did she not circumambulate the House with you? She said: Yes. He said: Then you can leave.
