It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet said: Omens are only in three things: a woman, a horse or a house.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَالِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلَاثَةٍ:‏‏‏‏ الْمَرْأَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْفَرَسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالدَّارِ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”نحوست تین چیزوں میں ہے، عورت، گھوڑے اور گھر میں“ ۱؎۔
