It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The wife of Rifa'ah came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'My husband divorced me and made it irrevocable. After that I married 'Abdur-Rahman bin Az-Zabir and what he has is like the fringe of a garment.' The Messenger of Allah smiled and said: 'Perhaps you want to go back to Rifa'ah? No, not until he tastes your sweetness and you taste his sweetness.'
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ زَوْجِي طَلَّقَنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَبَتَّ طَلَاقِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ بَعْدَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا مَعَهُ إِلَّا مِثْلُ هُدْبَةِ الثَّوْبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَعَلَّكِ تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ .
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رفاعہ کی بیوی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں اور ( آپ سے ) کہا کہ میرے شوہر نے مجھے طلاق دے دی اور طلاق بھی بتہ دی ( کہ وہ رجوع نہیں کر سکتے ) تو اس کے بعد میں نے عبدالرحمٰن بن زبیر سے شادی کر لی، لیکن ان کے پاس تو اس کپڑے کے جھالر جیسے کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہنس پڑے اور فرمایا: ”لگتا ہے رفاعہ سے تم دوبارہ نکاح کرنا چاہتی ہو؟ ( سن لو ) تو رفاعہ کے لیے اس وقت تک حلال نہیں ہو گی جب تک کہ وہ ( یعنی دوسرا شوہر ) تمہارے شہد کا مزہ نہ چکھ لے اور تم اس کے شہد کا“۔

It was narrated from 'Aishah that a man divorced his wife three times and she married another husband who divorced her, before having intercourse with her. The Messenger of Allah was asked: Is she permissible for the first (husband to remarry her)? He said: No, not until he tastes her sweetness as the first tasted her sweetness.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that Al-Ghumaisa or Ar-Rumaisa' came to the Prophet complaining that her husband would not have intercourse with her. It was not long before her husband came and said: O Messenger of Allah, she is lying; he is having intercourse with her, but she wants to go back to her first husband. The Messenger of Allah said: She cannot do that until she tastes his sweetness.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet said, concerning a man who had a wife and he divorced her, then she married another man who divorced her before consummating the marriage with her, and (it was asked) whether she could go back to her first husband: No, not until she tastes his sweetness.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Prophet was asked about a man who divorced his wife three times, then another man married her and he closed the door and drew the curtain, then divorced her before consummating the marriage with her. He said: She is not permissible for the first one (to remarry her) until the second one has had intercourse with her.
