It was narrated from Al-Ja'd bin Abi 'Uthman, that Anas bin Malik said:
The Messenger of Allah got married and consummated the marriage with his wife. He said: My mother Umm Sulaim made some Hais, and I brought it to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'My mother sends you greetings of Salam, and says to you: 'This is a little from us.'' He said: 'Put it down.' Then he said: 'Go and call so-and-so, and so-and-so, and whoever you meet,' and he named some men. So I called those whom he named and those whom I met. I said to Anas: How many were they? He said: About three hundred. Then the Messenger of Allah said: 'Let them sit around the dish of food in groups of ten, one after the other, and let each person eat from what is closest to him.' They ate until they were full, then one group went out and another group came in. He said to me: 'O Anas, clear it away.' So I cleared it away, and I do not know whether there was more when I cleared it away, or when I put it down.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ الْجَعْدِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ بِأَهْلِهِ، قَالَ: وَصَنَعَتْ أُمِّي أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ حَيْسًا، قَالَ: فَذَهَبَتْ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّ أُمِّي تُقْرِئُكَ السَّلَامَ، وَتَقُولُ لَكَ: إِنَّ هَذَا لَكَ مِنَّا قَلِيلٌ، قَالَ: ضَعْهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اذْهَبْ، فَادْعُ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا ، وَمَنْ لَقِيتَ، وَسَمَّى رِجَالًا، فَدَعَوْتُ مَنْ سَمَّى، وَمَنْ لَقِيتُهُ، قُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ: عِدَّةُ كَمْ كَانُوا ؟ قَالَ: يَعْنِي زُهَاءَ ثَلَاثَ مِائَةٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لِيَتَحَلَّقْ عَشَرَةٌ عَشَرَةٌ، فَلْيَأْكُلْ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِمَّا يَلِيهِ، فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا، فَخَرَجَتْ طَائِفَةٌ، وَدَخَلَتْ طَائِفَةٌ، قَالَ لِي: يَا أَنَسُ، ارْفَعْ، فَرَفَعْتُ فَمَا أَدْرِي حِينَ رَفَعْتُ، كَانَ أَكْثَرَ أَمْ حِينَ وَضَعْتُ .
انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نکاح کیا اور اپنی بیوی کے پاس گئے اور میری ماں ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے حیس بنایا، میں اسے لے کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس پہنچا اور آپ سے عرض کیا: میری والدہ ماجدہ آپ کو سلام پیش کرتی ہیں اور کہتی ہیں: یہ ہماری طرف سے آپ کے لیے تھوڑا سا تحفہ ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اسے رکھ دو اور جاؤ فلاں فلاں کو بلا لاؤ، آپ نے ان کے نام لیے اور ( راستے میں ) جو بھی ملے اسے بھی بلا لو“۔ راوی جعد کہتے ہیں: میں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: وہ لوگ کتنے رہے ہوں گے؟ کہا: تقریباً تین سو۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”دس آدمیوں کا حلقہ ( دائرہ ) بنا کر کھاؤ، اور ہر شخص اپنے قریب ( یعنی سامنے ) سے کھائے“، تو ان لوگوں نے ( ایسے ہی کر کے ) کھایا اور سب آسودہ ہو گئے، ( دس آدمیوں کی ) ایک جماعت کھا کر نکلی تو ( دس آدمیوں کی ) دوسری جماعت آئی ( اور اس نے کھایا اور وہ آسودہ ہوئی، اس طرح لوگ آتے گئے اور پیٹ بھر کر کھاتے اور نکلتے گئے، جب سب کھا چکے تو ) مجھ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: انس! اٹھا لو ( وہ کھانا جو لائے تھے ) تو میں نے اٹھا لیا۔ مگر میں کہہ نہیں سکتا کہ جب میں نے لا کر رکھا تھا تب زیادہ تھا یا جب اٹھایا تب ( زیادہ تھا ) ۔

It was narrated from Humaid At-Tawil that he heard Anas say: The Messenger of Allah established the bond of brotherhood between (some of) the Quraish and (some of) the Ansar, and he established the bond of brotherhood between Sa'd bin Ar-Rabi' and 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf. Sa'd said to him: 'I have wealth, which I will share equally between you and me. And I have two wives, so look and see which one you like better, and I will divorce her, and when her 'Iddah is over you can marry her.' He said: 'May Allah bless your family and your wealth for you. Show me -i.e., where the market is.' And he did not come back until he brought some ghee, and cottage cheese that he had left over. He said: 'The Messenger of Allah saw traces of yellow perfume on me and he said: 'What is this for?' I said: 'I have married a woman from among the Ansar.' He said: 'Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'
