Translation

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent Usaid bin Hudair and some other people to look for a necklace that 'Aishah had left behind in a place where she had stopped (while traveling). The time for prayer came and they did not have Wudu', and they could not find any water, so they prayed without Wudu'. They mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime revealed the verse of Tayammum. Usaid bin Hudair said: 'May Allah reward you with good, for by Allah, nothing ever happened to you that you dislike, but Allah makes it good for you and the Muslims.'

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قالت:‏‏‏‏ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُسَيْدَ بْنَ حُضَيْرٍ وَنَاسًا يَطْلُبُونَ قِلَادَةً كَانَتْ لِعَائِشَةَ نَسِيَتْهَا فِي مَنْزِلٍ نَزَلَتْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَلَيْسُوا عَلَى وُضُوءٍ وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَاءً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصَلَّوْا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ آيَةَ التَّيَمُّمِ . قَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ جَزَاكِ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكِ أَمْرٌ تَكْرَهِينَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ خَيْرًا.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسید بن حضیر رضی اللہ عنہ اور کچھ اور لوگوں کو بھیجا، یہ لوگ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کا ہار ڈھونڈ رہے تھے جسے وہ اس جگہ بھول گئیں تھیں جہاں وہ ( آرام کرنے کے لیے ) اتری تھیں، ( اسی اثناء میں ) نماز کا وقت ہو گیا، اور یہ لوگ نہ تو باوضو تھے اور نہ ہی انہیں ( کہیں ) پانی ملا، تو انہوں نے بلا وضو نماز پڑھ لی، پھر ان لوگوں نے اس کا ذکر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا، تو اللہ عزوجل نے تیمم کی آیت نازل فرمائی، تو اسید بن حضیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ( ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہا ) اللہ آپ کو اچھا بدلہ دے، اللہ کی قسم! جب بھی آپ کے ساتھ کوئی ایسا واقعہ پیش آیا جسے آپ ناگوار سمجھتی رہیں، تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس میں آپ کے لیے اور تمام مسلمانوں کے لیے بہتری رکھ دی۔

It was narrated from Tariq that a man became Junub and did not pray, then he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned that to him. He said: You did the right thing. Another man became Junub and performed Tayammum and prayed, and he came to him and he said something similar to what he had told the other man - meaning, you did the right thing.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that one of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Ghusl from Janabah, and the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Wudu' with her leftover water. She mentioned that to him and he said: Water is not made impure by anything. [1] [1] See the following versions.

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said: It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you perform Wudu' from the well into which the bodies of dogs, menstrual rags and garbage are thrown?' He said: 'Water is pure and it is not made impure by anything.'

It was narrated from Ibn Abi Sa'eed Al-Khudri that his father said: I passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was performing Wudu' from the well of Buda'ah. I said: 'Are you performing Wudu' from it when garbage is thrown into it?' He said: 'Water is not made impure by anything.'

It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about water and how some animals and carnivorous beasts might drink from it. He said: 'If the water is more than two Qullahs, it will not become filthy.'

It was narrated from Anas that a Bedouin urinated in the Masjid, and some of the people went after him, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not restrain him. When he had finished he called from a bucket (of water) and poured over it.
