It was narrated from Al-'Irbad bin Sariyah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The martyrs and those who dies in their beds referred a dispute to our Lord concerning those who dies of the plague. The martyrs said: 'Our brothers were killed as we were killed.' And those who dies in their beds said: 'Our brothers dies on their beds as we died.' Our Lord said: 'Look at their wounds; if their wounds; if their wounds are like the wounds of those who were killed then they are of them and belong with them.' And their wounds were like their (the martyrs') wounds.

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا بَحِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَخْتَصِمُ الشُّهَدَاءُ وَالْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ إِلَى رَبِّنَا فِي الَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنَ الطَّاعُونِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ الشُّهَدَاءُ:‏‏‏‏ إِخْوَانُنَا قُتِلُوا كَمَا قُتِلْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ الْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ:‏‏‏‏ إِخْوَانُنَا مَاتُوا عَلَى فُرُشِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَمَا مُتْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ رَبُّنَا انْظُرُوا إِلَى جِرَاحِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ أَشْبَهَ جِرَاحُهُمْ جِرَاحَ الْمَقْتُولِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُمْ مِنْهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا جِرَاحُهُمْ قَدْ أَشْبَهَتْ جِرَاحَهُمْ .

عرباض بن ساریہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”طاعون میں مرنے والوں کے بارے میں شہدا اور اپنے بستروں پر مرنے والے اللہ کے حضور اپنا جھگڑا ( مقدمہ ) پیش کریں گے، شہید لوگ کہیں گے: یہ ہمارے بھائی ہیں، جیسے ہم مارے گئے ہیں یہ لوگ بھی مارے گئے ہیں، اور جو لوگ اپنے بستروں پر وفات پائے ہیں وہ کہیں گے یہ ہمارے بھائی ہیں یہ لوگ اپنے بستروں پر مرے ہیں جیسے ہم لوگ اپنے بستروں پر پڑے پڑے مرے ہیں۔ تو میرا رب کہے گا: ان کے زخموں کو دیکھو اگر ان کے زخم شہیدوں کے زخم سے ملتے ہیں تو یہ لوگ شہیدوں میں سے ہیں اور شہیدوں کے ساتھ رہیں گے، تو جب دیکھا گیا تو ان کے زخم شہیدوں کی طرح نکلے“ ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, likes it when there are two men, one of whom killed the other, then they both enter Paradise. And another time he said: He laughs at two men, one of whom killed the other, then they both entered Paradise.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah laughs at two men, one of whom killed the other but they both entered Paradise. The first one fought in the cause of Allah and was killed, then Allah accepted the repentance of the one who killed him, and he fought and was martyred.

It was narrated from Salman Al-Khair that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever guards Ribat (the frontier) for one day and one night, will be given a reward like that for fasting and praying Qiyam for a month, and whoever dies at Ribat (guarding the frontier) will be rewarded, and he will be given provision, and he will be kept safe from Al-Fattan. [1] [1] According to As-Sindi, the preferred pronunciation is Al-Fattan, plural of Fatan refering to Al-Munkar and An-Nakir, while Al-Fattan would refer to Ash-Shaitan or the like, among the punishment of the grave, or, the angels of chastisement.

It was narrated that Salman said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Whoever guards Ribat (the frontier) in the cause of Allah for one day and one night, he will have (a reward) like that of fasting and praying Qiyam for a month. If he dies he will continue to receive reward for what he did, and he will be kept safe from Al-Fattan, and he will be given provision.'

It was narrated from Zurah bin Ma'bad: Abu Salih, the freed slave of 'Uthman, said: 'I heard 'Uthman bin 'Affan say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Ribat (guarding the frontier) for one day in the cause of Allah is better in rank than a thousand days spent within the residence.'

It was narrated that Abu Salih, the freed slace of 'Uthman, said: uthman bin 'Affan said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: A day in the cause of Allah is better than a thousand days doing anything else.'
