Translation

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what animals may we kill when we are in Ihram?' He said: there are five for which there is no sin in killing them: Kites, crows, mice, scorpions and vicious dogs.'

أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا نَقْتُلُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ إِذَا أَحْرَمْنَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَمْسٌ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ:‏‏‏‏ الْحِدَأَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْغُرَابُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْفَأْرَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَقْرَبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! جب ہم احرام باندھے ہوئے ہوں تو کون سے جانور مار سکتے ہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”پانچ جانور ہیں جن کے مارنے پر کوئی گناہ نہیں: چیل، کوا، چوہیا، بچھو اور کٹ کھنا ( کاٹنے والا ) کتا“۔
