Translation

It was narrated from Al-Bahzi that: the Messenger of Allah set out for Makkah and was in Ihram. When they were in Ar-Rawha, they saw a wounded onager. Mention of that was made to the messenger of Allah and he said: Leave it, for soon its owner will come. Then Al-Bahzi, who was its owner, came to the Messenger of Allah, it is up to you what you want to do with this onager. The Messenger of Allah Commanded Abu Bakr to share it out among the company then he moved on, and when he was in Al-Uthayah, between Ar-Ruwaythah and Al-Arj, They was a gazelle sleeping in the Shade with an arrow in it. It was said that the Messenger of Allah told a man to stand by it and not let anyone disturb it until everyone had passed by.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْبَهْزِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يُرِيدُ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِالرَّوْحَاءِ إِذَا حِمَارُ وَحْشٍ عَقِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ دَعُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ صَاحِبُهُ ،‏‏‏‏ فَجَاءَ الْبَهْزِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ صَاحِبُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَسَلَّمَ شَأْنَكُمْ بِهَذَا الْحِمَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَقَسَّمَهُ بَيْنَ الرِّفَاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مَضَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالْأُثَايَةِ بَيْنَ الرُّوَيْثَةِ وَالْعَرْجِ إِذَا ظَبْيٌ حَاقِفٌ فِي ظِلٍّ وَفِيهِ سَهْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا يَقِفُ عِنْدَهُ لَا يُرِيبُهُ أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ حَتَّى يُجَاوِزَهُ .

زید بن کعب بہزی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نکلے، آپ مکہ کا ارادہ کر رہے تھے، اور احرام باندھے ہوئے تھے یہاں تک کہ جب آپ روحاء پہنچے تو اچانک ایک زخمی نیل گائے دکھائی پڑا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا ذکر کیا گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”اسے پڑا رہنے دو، ہو سکتا ہے اس کا مالک ( شکاری ) آ جائے“ ( اور اپنا شکار لے جائے ) اتنے میں بہزی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، اور وہی اس کے مالک ( شکاری ) تھے انہوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ گور نیل گائے آپ کے پیش خدمت ہے ۱؎ آپ جس طرح چاہیں اسے استعمال کریں۔ تو رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیا، تو انہوں نے اس کا گوشت تمام ساتھیوں میں تقسیم کر دیا، پھر آپ آگے بڑھے، جب اثایہ پہنچے جو رویثہ اور عرج کے درمیان ہے، تو کیا دیکھتے ہیں کہ ایک ہرن اپنا سر اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں اور پیروں کے درمیان کئے ہوئے ہے، ایک سایہ میں کھڑا ہے اس کے جسم میں ایک تیر پیوست ہے، تو ان کا ( یعنی بہزی کا ) گمان ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو حکم دیا کہ وہ وہاں کھڑا ہو جائے تاکہ کوئی شخص اسے چھیڑنے نہ پائے یہاں تک کہ آپ ( مع اپنے اصحاب کے ) آگے بڑھ جائیں۔

It was narrated from As-Sab bin Jaththamah that: he gave the Messenger of Allah an onager when he was in Al-Abwa or in Waddan, but the Messenger of Allah gave it back to him. And when the Messenger of Allah saw the expression on my face he said: We only gave it back to you because we are in Ihram.'

It was narrated from As-Sab bin Jaththamah that: the Prophet came, and when he was in Waddan, he saw an onager, but he gave it back to him and said: 'We are in Ihram, we cannot eat game.'

It was narrated from 'Ata' that Ibn 'Abbas said to Zaid bin Arqam: Do you not know that the Prophet was given a piece of game meant when he was in Ihram and he did not accept it? He said: Yes.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: Zaid bin Arqam came and Ibn Abbas said to him, reminding him: What did you tell me about the game meat that was given to the Messenger of Allah when he was in Ihram? He said: Yes, a man gave him a piece of game meat but he returned it and said: 'We cannot eat it, we are in Ihram.'

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: As-Sab bin Jaththamah gave the Messenger of Allah the leg of an onager that was dripping with blood when he was in Ihram, at Qudaid, and he returned it to him.
