It was narrated that 'Aishah said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah for the Farewell Pligrimage and we entered Ihram for 'Umrah, then the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a Hadi with him, let him enter Ihram for both Hajj and 'Umrah, then do not exit Ihram until he exits Ihram for them both.' I came to Makkah and I had my menses, so I did not circumambulate the House or (Perform Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. I complained about that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Undo your hair, and comb it, and enter Ihram for Hajj, and leave 'Umrah.' When I had completed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah sent me with 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakr to At-Tan'im, and I performed 'Umrah. He said: 'This is the place of your 'Umrah.' Then those who had entered Ihram for 'Umar circumambulated the House and (performed Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. Then they exited Ihram, then they performed Tawaf again, after they came back from Mina for their Hajj. As for those who combined Hajj and 'Umrah, they only performed one Tawaf.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِعُمْرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلْيُهْلِلْ بِالْحَجِّ مَعَ الْعُمْرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ لَا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ فَلَمْ أَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَامْتَشِطِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَدَعِي الْعُمْرَةَ ،‏‏‏‏ فَفَعَلْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَضَيْتُ الْحَجَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ فَاعْتَمَرْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذِهِ مَكَانُ عُمْرَتِكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَطَافَ الَّذِينَ أَهَلُّوا بِالْعُمْرَةِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ حَلُّوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ طَافُوا طَوَافًا آخَرَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعُوا مِنْ مِنًى لِحَجِّهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ جَمَعُوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ فَإِنَّمَا طَافُوا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ حجۃ الوداع میں ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلے، تو ہم نے عمرہ کا تلبیہ پکارا، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس کے پاس ہدی ہو وہ حج و عمرہ دونوں کا تلبیہ پکارے، پھر احرام نہ کھولے جب تک کہ ان دونوں سے فارغ نہ ہو جائے“، تو میں مکہ آئی، اور میں حائضہ تھی تو میں نہ بیت اللہ کا طواف کر سکی اور نہ ہی صفا و مروہ کی سعی کر سکی، تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کی شکایت کی، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”اپنا سر کھول دو، کنگھی کر لو اور حج کا احرام باندھ لو اور عمرہ کو جانے دو“، تو میں نے ایسا ہی کیا، پھر جب میں حج کر چکی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے عبدالرحمٰن بن ابی بکر کے ساتھ تنعیم بھیجا، تو میں نے عمرہ کیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ تیرے عمرہ کی جگہ میں ہے“، تو جن لوگوں نے عمرے کا تلبیہ پکارا تھا انہوں نے بیت اللہ کا طواف کیا، اور صفا و مروہ کی سعی کی، پھر وہ حلال ہو گئے ( پھر منیٰ سے لوٹنے کے بعد انہوں نے ایک دوسرا طواف ۱؎ اپنے حج کا کیا، اور جن لوگوں نے حج و عمرہ دونوں کو جمع کیا تھا ( یعنی قران کیا تھا ) تو انہوں نے ایک ہی طواف کیا۔

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas: That Duba'ah wanted to perform Hajj, so the Prophet Told here to stipulate a condition, and she acted upon the command of the Messenger of Allah.

Hilal bin Khabbab said: I asked Sa'eed bin Jubair about a man who performs Hajj and stipulates a condition. He said: 'Conditions are something that people do among themselves.' I narrated the Hadith of 'Ikrimah to him, and he narrated to me from Ibn 'Abbas, that Duba'ah bint Az-Zubair bin 'Abdul-Muttalib came to the Prophet, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I want to perform Hajj, so what should I say?' He said: 'Say: Labbaik Allahumma! Labbaika wa mahilli min al-ardihayth tahbisuni (Here I am, O Allah, Here I am, and I shall exit Ihram at any place where You decree that I cannot proceed.) And whatever condition you stipulate will be accepted by your Lord.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'Duba'ah bint Az-Zubair bin 'Abdul-Muttalib came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'I am a heavy woman and I want to go for Hajj. How do I begin the Ihram?' He said: 'Enter Ihram and stipulate the condition that you will exit Ihram from the point where you are prevented (from continuing, if some problem should arise).

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: Duba'ah bint Az-Zubair bin 'Abdul-Muttalib came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'I am a heavy woman and I want to go for Hajj. How do I begin the Ihram?' He said: 'Enter Ihram and stipulate the condition that you will exit Ihram from the point where you are prevented (from continuing, if some problem should arise). (Sahih) Ishaq said: I said to 'Abdur-Razzaq: Both from 'Aishah, HIsham and Az-Zuhir? He said: Yes Abu 'Abdur-Rahman (An-Nasa'i) said: I do not know of anyone who narrated this chain from Az-Zuhri except Ma'mar. Chpater 61. It was narrated that Salim said: Ibn 'Umar used to denounce stipulating conditions in Hajj, and said: 'Is not the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sufficient for you? If one of you is prevented from performing (finishing) Hajj let him circumambulate the House and (perform Sai) between As-Safa and al-Marwah, then exit Ihram completely until he performs Hajj the following year. And let him offer a Hadi or fast if he con not find a Hadi.

It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that: he used to denounce stipulating conditions in Hajj and said: Is not the Sunnah of your Prophet sufficient for you? If one of you is prevented (from completing Hajj) by anything, let him come to the House and circumambulate it, and (perform Sai) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah, then let him shave his head or cut his hair, then exit Ihram; and he has to perform Hajj the next year.
