Translation

It was narrated that Ja'far bin Muhammad said; My father said: 'We came to Jabir and asked him about the Hajj of the Prophet. He told us that the Messenger of Allah said: Had I known when I set out what I know now, I would have brought the Jadi (sacrificial animal ) with me and I would not have made it 'Umrah. Whoever does not have a Jadi with him, let him exit Ihram and make it 'Umrah, 'Ali may Allah be ;eased with him, came from Yemen with a Hadi, and the Messenger of Allah brought a Hadi from Al-Madinah, Fatimah had put on a dyed garment and applied kohl to her eyes, and he ('Ali) said: I went to the Prophet to complain about that and find out whether she could do that, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Fatima had put on a dyed garment and applied kohl to her eyes, and she said, the Messenger of Allah told me to do that. 'He said: 'She is telling the truth, she is telling the truth, I told her to do that

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْنَا جَابِرًا فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثَنَا،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَمْ أَسُقْ الْهَدْيَ وَجَعَلْتُهَا عُمْرَةً فَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُحْلِلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلْيَجْعَلْهَا عُمْرَةً ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَدِمَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ بِهَدْيٍ وَسَاقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ هَدْيًا وَإِذَا فَاطِمَةُ قَدْ لَبِسَتْ ثِيَابًا صَبِيغًا وَاكْتَحَلَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَانْطَلَقْتُ مُحَرِّشًا أَسْتَفْتِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ لَبِسَتْ ثِيَابًا صَبِيغًا وَاكْتَحَلَتْ وَقَالَتْ أَمَرَنِي بِهِ أَبِي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَدَقَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏صَدَقَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏صَدَقَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَا أَمَرْتُهَا .

محمد الباقر کہتے ہیں کہ ہم جابر ( جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما ) کے پاس آئے، اور ان سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے حج کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے ہم سے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اگر مجھے پہلے معلوم ہو گیا ہوتا جو اب معلوم ہوا تو میں ہدی ( کا جانور ) لے کر نہ آتا اور اسے عمرہ میں تبدیل کر دیتا ( اور طواف و سعی کر کے احرام کھول دیتا ) تو جس کے پاس ہدی نہ ہو وہ احرام کھول ڈالے، اور اسے عمرہ قرار دے لے“ ( اسی موقع پر ) علی رضی اللہ عنہ یمن سے ہدی ( کے اونٹ ) لے کر آئے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ سے لے کر گئے۔ اور فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے جب رنگین کپڑے پہن لیے اور سرمہ لگا لیا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں تو غصہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے فتویٰ پوچھنے گیا۔ میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! فاطمہ نے تو رنگین کپڑے پہن رکھے ہیں اور سرمہ لگا رکھا ہے اور کہتی ہیں: میرے ابا جان صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے اس کا حکم دیا ہے؟، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس نے سچ کہا، اس نے، سچ کہا، میں نے ہی اسے حکم دیا ہے“۔

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: a man fell from his mount and it trampled him. The Messenger of Allah said: Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and he should be shrouded in two clothes, leaving his head and face bare, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah. (sahih)
