Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet designated Dhul-Hulaifah as the Miqat for the people of Al-Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-shamham, Yalmlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. They are for them and for those who pass by them who are not of their people, intending to perform Hajj or 'Umrah. If a person's place of residence is within the boundary of they Miqat, then (he should enter Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَّتَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَة، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهُنَّ لَهُمْ وَلِمَنْ أَتَى عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِنَّ مِمَّنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ فَمَنْ كَانَ دُونَهُنَّ فَمِنْ أَهْلِهِ حَتَّى أَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ يُهِلُّونَ مِنْهَا .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ والوں کے لیے ذوالحلیفہ کو میقات مقرر کیا، اور شام والوں کے لیے جحفہ کو اور یمن والوں کے لیے یلملم کو، اور نجد والوں کے لیے قرن المنازل کو۔ یہ جگہیں یہاں کے لوگوں کے لیے میقات ہیں اور ان کے علاوہ لوگوں کے لیے بھی جو ان پر سے ہو کر گزریں، اور حج و عمرہ کا ارادہ رکھنے والوں میں سے ہوں اور جو لوگ ان جگہوں کے اندر رہتے ہوں تو وہ اپنے گھر ہی سے تلبیہ پکاریں یہاں تک کہ مکہ والے مکہ ہی سے تلبیہ پکاریں گے“۔

Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar narrated that his father said: The Messenger of Allah stayed overnight in dhul-Hulaifah, where he started his Hajj with this action, and he prayed in the Masjid there.''(sahih)
