It was narrated from Zaid bin Zibyan, and attributed to Abu Dharr, that the Prophet said: There are three whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves, and three whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates. As for those whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves: A man who comes to some people and asks (to be given something) for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and not for the sake of their relationship, but they do not give him. So one man stayed behind and gave to him in secret, and no one knew of his giving except Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and the one to whom he gave it. People who travel all night until sleep becomes dearer to them than anything that may be equivalent to it, so they lay down their heads (and slept). Then a man among them got up and started praying to Me and beseeching Me, reciting MY Ayat. And a man who was on a campaign and met the enemy and they fled, but he went forward (pursuing them) until he was killed or Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, granted victory to him. And three whom Allah hates are the old man who commits Zina, the poor man who shows off, and the rich man who is unjust.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رِبْعِيًّا يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي ذَرٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ثَلَاثَةٌ يُحِبُّهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَثَلَاثَةٌ يَبْغُضُهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَمَّا الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَجُلٌ أَتَى قَوْمًا فَسَأَلَهُمْ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُمْ بِقَرَابَةٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَمَنَعُوهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَتَخَلَّفَهُ رَجُلٌ بِأَعْقَابِهِمْ فَأَعْطَاهُ سِرًّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا يَعْلَمُ بِعَطِيَّتِهِ إِلَّا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالَّذِي أَعْطَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَوْمٌ سَارُوا لَيْلَتَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ النَّوْمُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِمَّا يُعْدَلُ بِهِ نَزَلُوا فَوَضَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ يَتَمَلَّقُنِي وَيَتْلُو آيَاتِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَقُوا الْعَدُوَّ فَهُزِمُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَقْبَلَ بِصَدْرِهِ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ أَوْ يَفْتَحَ اللَّهُ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالثَّلَاثَةُ الَّذِينَ يَبْغُضُهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ الشَّيْخُ الزَّانِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْفَقِيرُ الْمُخْتَالُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْغَنِيُّ الظَّلُومُ .

ابوذر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تین آدمی ایسے ہیں جن سے اللہ عزوجل محبت کرتا ہے، اور تین آدمی ایسے ہیں جن سے اللہ عزوجل بغض رکھتا ہے، رہے وہ جن سے اللہ محبت کرتا ہے تو وہ یہ ہیں: ایک شخص کچھ لوگوں کے پاس گیا، اور اس نے ان سے اللہ کے نام پر کچھ مانگا، اور مانگنے میں ان کے اور اپنے درمیان کسی قرابت کا واسطہ نہیں دیا۔ لیکن انہوں نے اسے نہیں دیا۔ تو ایک شخص ان لوگوں کے پیچھے سے مانگنے والے کے پاس آیا۔ اور اسے چپکے سے دیا، اس کے اس عطیہ کو صرف اللہ عزوجل جانتا ہو اور وہ جسے اس نے دیا ہے۔ اور کچھ لوگ رات میں چلے اور جب نیند انہیں اس جیسی اور چیزوں کے مقابل میں بہت بھلی لگنے لگی، تو ایک جگہ اترے اور اپنا سر رکھ کر سو گئے، لیکن ایک شخص اٹھا، اور میرے سامنے گڑگڑانے لگا اور میری آیتیں پڑھنے لگا۔ اور ایک وہ شخص ہے جو ایک فوجی دستہ میں تھا، دشمن سے مڈبھیڑ ہوئی، لوگ شکست کھا کر بھاگنے لگے مگر وہ سینہ تانے ڈٹا رہا یہاں تک کہ وہ مارا گیا، یا اللہ تعالیٰ نے اسے فتح مند کیا۔ اور تین شخص جن سے اللہ تعالیٰ بغض رکھتا ہے یہ ہیں: ایک بوڑھا زنا کار، دوسرا گھمنڈی فقیر، اور تیسرا ظالم مالدار“۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the messenger of Allah said: The poor man (Miskin) is not the one who leaves if you give him a date or two, or a morsel or two. Rather the poor man is the one who refrains from asking. Recite if you wish: They do not beg of people at all. '

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: The poor man (Miskin) is not the one who goes around asking people and they send him away with a morsel or two, of a date or two. They said: Then what does poor (Mishkin) mean? He said: The one who does not possess independence of means and no one notices him to give charity to him, and he does not stand and ask of people.

It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Bujaid that his grandmother Umm Bujaid -who was one of those who gave the oath of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah - said to the Messenger of Allah: The poor man stands at my door, and I cannot find anything to give him. The Messenger of Allah said to her: If you cannot find anything to give to him except a sheep's burned foot, then give it to him.
