It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: My maternal aunt Maimunah told me: 'I brought the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) water for his Ghusl from Janabah, and he washed his hands two or three times, then he put his right hand in the vessel and poured water over his private part, then he washed it with his left hand. Then he put his left hand on the ground and rubbed it hard. Then he performed Wudu' as for prayer,then poured three scoops with his two hands full of water over his head, then he washed his entire body, then he moved away from where he had been standing and washed his feet.' She said: 'Then I brought him a towel but he refused it.'

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عِيسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَالِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَتْنِي خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قالت:‏‏‏‏ أَدْنَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غُسْلَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ بِيَمِينِهِ فِي الْإِنَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَفْرَغَ بِهَا عَلَى فَرْجِهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِشِمَالِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَدَلَكَهَا دَلْكًا شَدِيدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ حَثَيَاتٍ مِلْءَ كَفِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ غَسَلَ سَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى عَنْ مَقَامِهِ فَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ فَرَدَّهُ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ میری خالہ ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے غسل جنابت کا پانی لا کر رکھا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو یا تین بار اپنے دونوں پہونچے دھوئے، پھر اپنا داہنا ہاتھ برتن میں داخل کیا تو اس سے اپنی شرمگاہ پر پانی ڈالا، پھر اسے اپنے بائیں ہاتھ سے دھویا، پھر اپنے بائیں ہاتھ کو زمین پر مارا اور اسے زور سے ملا، پھر اپنی نماز کے وضو کی طرح وضو کیا، پھر اپنے سر پر تین لپ بھربھر کر ڈالا، پھر اپنے پورے جسم کو دھویا، پھر آپ اپنی جگہ سے الگ ہٹ کر اپنے دونوں پاؤں دھوئے، ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں: پھر میں تولیہ لے کر آئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے واپس کر دیا۔
