It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: A Dirham surpassed a hundred thousand Dirhams. They said: How? He said: A man had two Dirhams and gave one in charity, and another man went part of his wealth and took out a hundred thousand Dirhams and gave them in charity.
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْقَعْقَاعُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَبَقَ دِرْهَمٌ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَكَيْفَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ دِرْهَمَانِ تَصَدَّقَ بِأَحَدِهِمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَانْطَلَقَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُرْضِ مَالِهِ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا .
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ایک درہم ایک لاکھ درہم سے بڑھ گیا“، لوگوں نے ( حیرت سے ) پوچھا: یہ کیسے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ایک شخص کے پاس دو درہم تھے، ان دو میں سے اس نے ایک صدقہ کر دیا، اور دوسرا شخص اپنی دولت ( کے انبار کے ) ایک گوشے کی طرف گیا اور اس ( ڈھیر ) میں سے ایک لاکھ درہم لیا، اور اسے صدقہ کر دیا“ ۱؎۔
