It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'A Muslim man does not have to pay Zakah on his slave or his horse. '

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ الْوَضَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا زَكَاةَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فِي عَبْدِهِ وَلَا فَرَسِهِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”مسلمان پر اس کے غلام اور گھوڑے میں زکاۃ نہیں ہے“۔
