It was narrated that Umm Salamah said: The Messenger of Allah used to enjoin fasting three days: The first Thursday, and Monday and Monday.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ أَوَّلِ خَمِيسٍ وَالإِثْنَيْنِ .

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہر مہینے میں تین دن۔ ہر مہینے کی پہلی جمعرات کو، اور دو اس کے بعد والے دو شنبہ ( پیر ) کو پھر اس کے بعد والے دوشنبہ ( پیر ) کو روزے رکھنے کا حکم دیتے تھے ۱؎۔
