Translation

It was narrated that Abu Ja'far said: We argued about Ghusl in the presence of jabir in 'Abdullah, and Jabir said: 'One Sa' of water is sufficient for ghusl from Janabah.' We said: 'One Sa' is not enough and neither is two.' Jabir said: 'It was sufficient for one who was better than you and had more hair.'

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ تَمَارَيْنَا فِي الْغُسْلِ عِنْدَ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَكْفِي مِنَ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ صَاعٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْنَا:‏‏‏‏ مَا يَكْفِي صَاعٌ وَلَا صَاعَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ جَابِرٌ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ كَانَ يَكْفِي مَنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مِنْكُمْ وَأَكْثَرَ شَعْرًا .

ابو جعفر کہتے ہیں کہ ہم جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم کے پاس غسل کے سلسلہ میں جھگڑ پڑے، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: غسل جنابت میں ایک صاع پانی کافی ہے، اس پر ہم نے کہا: ایک صاع اور دو صاع کافی نہیں ہو گا، تو جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اس ذات گرامی کو کافی ہوتا تھا ۱؎ جو تم سے زیادہ اچھے، اور زیادہ بالوں والے تھے۔
