Translation

It was narrated from Saeed bin Al-Musayyab that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins. '

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ اللَّيْثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا خَالِدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

(تابعی) سعید بن مسیب کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے رمضان میں ( رات کو ) ایمان کے ساتھ اور ثواب چاہنے کے لیے قیام اللیل کیا، یعنی نماز تراویح پڑھی اس کے پچھلے گناہ بخش دئیے جائیں گے“۔
